Welcome to the online home of Friends of the Clarkston Library.  We’re diverse volunteers of all ages who conduct community outreach and raise funds for the Clarkston Library, a branch of the DeKalb County Public Library.

Our community is like no other – a small, friendly Southern city that’s known for its mix of cultures from every part of the world.

Clarkston Library collections, programs, and resources help local people gain new skills, connect with one another, explore new cultures, and fire up their imaginations.

What We Do

The Friends reach out to Clarkston residents by distributing library announcements at coffee shops, festivals, nonprofits, and even yard sales.  Our team also hosts used book sales to raise funds for special library needs.  Here’s a sampling of the programs made possible by Friends of the Clarkston Library:

  • A lecture-demonstration by the Atlanta Chinese Dance Company

  • An African-inspired jewelry making class

  • Book clubs for kids, teens, and adults

  • Afternoon movies, and more.
